The Army Cadet Program is a free youth program for youth aged 12 to 18, partially funded by the Department of National Defense, but not all operational and program costs are covered.
To maintain a great experience for cadets, additional expenses are covered through fundraising by the volunteer Support Committee. The 105 Streetsville Army Cadet Support Committee plays a crucial role in providing suitable accommodations, managing funds, promoting the Cadet Program, and organizing community-level fundraising to support the cadets.
The committee collaborates closely with the Commanding Officer, corps staff, and cadets to ensure the aims and objectives of the Army Cadet program are met. It assists in recruiting cadets, publicizing corps activities within the community, organizing fundraising events, and providing financial support through fundraising and donations.
Essential to Cadet Corps throughout Canada, the committee handles fundraising, financial management, and community recruitment. While primarily consisting of parents of current and former cadets, it is open to reputable community adults.
What Don’t We Do?
It’s important to note that the Support Committee does not directly influence cadet training, planning, or evaluations. Questions about training or cadet performance should be directed to corps officers.

OLG Rama Customer Service Ambassadors – Volunteer Opportunities
If you have 2 hours available to volunteer “once-in-a-while” we would love to have your help with our OLG Rama volunteering. Each 2-hour shift provides our corp. with over $2000… not bad for a 2 hour shift.
The 105 Streetsville Army Cadets is looking for adults, 18 and over, who are willing to volunteer for 2 hour shifts at the OLG Rama Gaming House. Two volunteers are needed for each shift. You will function as a host welcoming people at the front door and thanking them when leaving. There will be some additional host duties that will be shared during training and orientation – such as serving coffee, pushing in chairs, and wiping down the machines.
If you are interested, sign up for an available time and we will follow up with you regarding the training required. Existing volunteers, please sign up for available times to ensure we are covered.
Here’s how to sign up in 3 easy steps:
1. Click this link to go to our invitation page on SignUp: https://signup.com/go/CRcHyLQ
2. Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on SignUp)
3. Sign up! Choose your spots – SignUp will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!
Note: SignUp does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact me and I can sign you up manually.
If you are a new volunteer, please email our OLG Co-Ordinator at csc.olena@streetsvillearmycadets.com so that we can send you the training information. You will be required to complete a 30 minute online learning module about Accessibility. It would be great if you could attend an in-person training session at Rama, but don’t worry, if you can’t. We will pair you up with an experienced volunteer for some on-the-job training.
Thank you to Rama Gaming House and OLG Gaming for helping to support 105 Streetsville Army Cadets.

Canteen Donations
Our canteen is super popular with cadets. On parade nights they are given breaks between activities. During this time they will often come down to purchase a drink or a snack. All proceeds from the canteen are directed back into the cadet program.
Our cadets love:
- Cheetos, and other brands of chips
- Cans of crush, coke, and iced tea
- Sparkling Ice Water
- Chocolate bars (Halloween size or full size)
- Slim Jims and Hot Rods (Pepperoni sticks)
- Protein bars
We sell all of our items for $1
Some items are 3 or 4 for $1 depending on the size.
Parents are encouraged to donate to our canteen so that we can continue to offer these items at low prices for the cadets. You can drop-off donations with your cadets on Tuesday nights, or if you prefer, you can send an e-transfer donation to treasurer@streetsvillearmycadets.com.
